I have been blessed to have conducted a video interview with 4 of the authors of my personal top 10 ever books, in over 10 years of producing my ‘Book Of The Month reviews’. In these videos, the authors explain more about their books than you could get from one of my book reviews alone and more than you could get from reading their books alone.
1- ‘The Values Factor’ International Best-sellling book written by Dr John Demartini
As I tell Dr Demartini in my interview, this is the second most important book I have ever read and reviewed. Dr Demartini taught me an understanding Axiology (The study of values) that opened a breath taking door way to better understanding human behaviour and effective communication across all areas of life.
2- ‘The Inside Track’ Best selling book in 27 countries by Peter Sage
This book was almost written ‘by accident’ by a man who I met when I was working with Billionaire coach Tony Robbins in the early 2,000 when Peter became Tony Robbin’s youngest ever trainer! Peter is an extraordinary entrepreneur who somehow ended up in a high security prison for 18 months having never been accused or convicted for committing a crime! I read and reviewed this book whilst the world was in lockdown and a lot of people ‘who had done nothing wrong’, were effectively imprisoned in their homes. Peter took an extraordinary and immensely challenging situation and turned it into one of the most inspiring experiences imaginable! I still have to pinch myself that Peter has become a personal friend.
3- ‘Systemology’ Best selling book by entrepreneur David Jenyns
The book Systemology is compulsory reading for all of my clients. For me what sets a business leader apart is ‘knowing how to build simple & effective business systems’ this means ‘having a system for building systems’, which is what Systemology provides. It is my fourth favourite book of all time (all categories) and my number one favourite business growth book (which is really saying something). When David contacted me out of the blue it was an honour and a privilege to be able to interview him about his International Bestselling book. My apologies for the poor lighting at my end. You can read my original written review of the book by clicking here!
4- ‘The Wise Bear Stories’ by Cranfield
As soon as I read this book, I got it for my own children who were 10 and 12 years old at the time. It taught my children more about dealing with the ups and downs of everyday life than any other book I have previously encountered. I even awarded this book my ‘Thought Leadership Book of the Year 2019’ even though it is a children’s book! The author, a dad himself, explains his inspiration behind writing these books.
5- ‘The 4 Fundamentals of Family Prosperity’ Amazon number 1 book by entrepreneur and Family Prosperity expert Nicholas Charles
This book addresses the historical reality that “90% of all wealthy families lose all of their wealth within 3 generations!”, a conundrum also referred to by the quote “Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in 3 generations.” I am blessed to know the author as both a client and a friend. From lots of deep personal experiences of intergenerational wealth failure Nicholas breaks down many common beliefs as illusions, he explores why factors such as ‘effective communication’ , ‘not appreciating wealth’ and ‘not having a greater purpose for wealth’ are ultimately more important to sustaining wealth for any individual and family than simply having ‘a great financial plan’! In this interview Nicholas shares some of the fascinating well researched statistics that are in his book, that demonstrate, for example that ‘poor communication’ is many times more likely to lead to the loss of a family’s generational wealth than ‘poor financial planning’!
